How do I create high quality PDF prints?
Hello guys,
i have a simple requirement for our PDF export files: They should be sharp.
If i put a single Object on a screen and print it, everything looks fine. But in case i use multiple objects, put them into a container and export this screen into a pdf file, it looks very pixilated.
I have the same problem inside the capsule print template with our company Logo.
Do i need some special preferences for the print options? For expample: Your company icon should have 250x200 pixel, or your container should have the size 1300x800 for DIN A4 crosswise format.
I tried so much (changing DPI, rezise the conatiner) but nothing helps.
Can someone help?
Kind regards
Florian

Hello everyone,
This post is rather old but I also face this issue and haven't found any solution to it. I am working on 10.6.
I also tried to export it through presentations with no better success.
Anyone has an idea on how to export good quality pdf reports?
Thanks,

Hi Sébastien,
I don't know, if I can help you. But I'm doing pdf reports and they all look fine and have a decent enough resolution. I also use simple screens for reports, as well as with containers. Did you change the print resolution setting to "very high"?
Best wishes

Hi Luger,
Thanks a lot for your help. Unfortunately that option does not appear on my screen.
Could you please let me know what version you are using? I am on 10.6.

Hi Sébastien,
that is kind of strange, because I'm on the same version, but my revision is lower than yours. I did the last update in March 2020. I'm not sure, what the revision in the context of Board means and why this feature would disappear with a higher revision. When was the last time you did an update?
Best wishes

Hi Luger,
This is strange indeed. We migrated to 10.6 in June 2020.
Could anyone from Board help us on this?
Thanks,

Dear Sébastien,
Could we organize a remote call to check this together? What are your available timeslots?

Would it be possible to be kept updated about this somehow?

Dear Davide,
I propose we continue the discussion by e-mail and arrange a meeting.
My e-mail address is sebastien.breyne@cullen-international.com.
@Rutger van den Berg, sure I will make sure to update the conversation following our discussion with Davide.

Hi Rutger,
Here is the solution Davide showed me today.
On the server where board in installed:
1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Board\Board WebApi Server\App_Data\config
2. Open snapshotter.config
3. On the resolution line, change "standard" to "very high"
It should look like this : <add key="resolution" value="very high" />
If it doesn't work, you might want to restart the engine and WebApi services. Make sure none is using Board when you do this.
The quality option as Ludger mentioned indeed doesn't exist anymore in the newer versions. It is now replaced with this parameter.
Thanks again to Ludger and Davide for their help!

Hi!
One slight modification to the proposed solution:
You'll want to use "veryhigh" instead of "very high"
Having the extra space can prevent the settings from taking full effect.
On the server where board in installed:
1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Board\Board WebApi Server\App_Data\config
2. Open snapshotter.config
3. On the resolution line, change "standard" to "veryhigh"
It should look like this : <add key="resolution" value="veryhigh" />0
