Fast Search in Dataview - exclude mode

Hello

I discovered that in the dataview fast search available in the sliding toolbar the "Exclude" option is achieved typing a "-" before the string.

 

example:

in the dataview I have folling items in row

 

Jan
Feb
Mar

 

if I type "-Feb" I will see only Jan/Mar.
This behaviour is not described in the manual.

 

has someone detected the same behaviour?


I also saw that it doesn not work in other search boxes (e.g. in a selector)

for Board guys > can you confirm this behaviour? I think it's useful and should be notified into Board manual!

    to expand on that it seems to work with parts of the search text:

    e.g. searching for "trade" in a list of accounts lists all containing "trade". Searching for "trade -accounts" returns the list containing "trade" minus the list containing "accounts". One of the entries found was "trade receivables".

     

    Using a + before the term ensures that instead of a union of two terms the intersection is taken. "trade +payable" lists those accounts containing trade and payables. Searching for "trade payable" returns the list of those containing either "trade" or "payable"
