Performance of a Progress JDBC Driver in a C2P architecture

Hi,

question to community:

I have a Progress JDBC connector installed on Cloud, and I can't optimize data transfer with Progress options.

I have a Board Cloud Application connected to a Oracle On premise DB.

My performance now are: ~30k record at second with optimization of oracle table index and the initial query take less than 15 second. DR take 4:02 to load 6.8Million of Records.

Which are your performance of data transfer?

I need to understand if 30k record are the limit of Progress driver or if I have another problem in my architecture.

Based on my past experience (On premise architecture with Oracle ODBC), 30k record seem to be few.

Just to gain some clarity on this. Are you using both ODBC and JDBC to Oracle and comparing the 2 performances?

Are you using the Progress On-premise Connector? Which version are you using and what is environment specs you have the OPC installed on?

Hi mike,

I can't compare ODBC and JDBC on my system, because I would need ODBC on the cloud for a correct test.
Now I have Progress JDBC on Cloud (connection to On Premise Oracle) and my performance are in the initial question.

My question is to compare my performance with another one.

Board Version 10.6.0.0.31201 and characteristic are 16 core /128 GB RAM.

I think we can take Board out of the equation here. This comes downs to performance of the JDBC connector. I reached out to Progress and asked if they had performance stats on the Progress JDBC connector. They asked for the following

. Can you please let me know the following:

Version of Hybrid Data Pipeline
Platform where Hybrid Data Pipeline is installed (this you gave already)

Can you provide this information?

as a middle man here the following comes from Progress

- When you mention 4 minutes to load 6.8 million records, are you uploading data to HDP or retrieving data from HDP and loading it to the application?

- Would it be possible to share and/or provide details of the application with Progress?

- Can you provide the HDP server and On-Premise Connector logs from when the application was run for Progress to review?
