Two totals in layout

Hi experts,

 

I've a layout where I need to add two totals, one is sum of all rows (which is straight forward) and other is sum of specific rows based on a rule on other data blocks. Is there a way in Board to add two totals (by column)?

are you talking of rules the same way BOARD addresses them or do you mean an algorithm by "sum of specific rows based on a rule on other data blocks"?

If you could provide a small sample in an EXCEL view that would really help.

I think you can achieve what you are trying to do using the Nexel functionality described in the help.

Hi Helmut,

 

Following is an example of what I would like to achieve. I've to add total for 'comparable level clients' which existed in both LY and TY. 

Total 1 corresponds to clients which existed in both years

Total 2 corresponds to clients 

 

	TY	LY
Client 1	100	110
Client 2	200	210
Client 3	0	200
Client 4	0	400
Total 1	300	320
Total 2	300	920

maybe this article can help you: Cubes grouped in lines, a combining approach.

You can have more than one total with Rules.

this might be a stupid question, but do you need to have these totals in rows? The idea is probably to show the delta, right? In your example, adding two algorithms would give you the same result in two columns within seconds:

I need to add two totals for following:

Total 1: Adding numbers from all clients

Total 2: Adding numbers from clients which existed in TY and LY to have totals from comparable clients.
