Hello, Board Community!

International Women's Day is almost here, and we want to take a moment to recognize this important day for many.

Did you know that the world has come together to commemorate International Women's Day (IWD) since 1911? The day is dedicated to celebrating the "social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, while serving as a "call to action for accelerating gender parity."

IWD is not a country, group, or specific organization—it's a challenge to us all to pause and reflect on what we can do to make this world a more equitable and inclusive place for women everywhere.

Every year has a theme, and this year's theme of Accelerate Action focuses on speed and decisive steps toward gender equality.

Via IWD:

Collectively, we can Accelerate Action for gender equality.

At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is, roughly, five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum.

Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.

So, together, let's Accelerate Action to speed up the rate of progress worldwide.

Accelerate Action shows up in real life in many ways today, including areas such as talent retention and development, access to education and training, and opportunities for leadership and decision-making. To learn more about this year's theme and International Women's Day, please click here.

We celebrate all of our amazing Board Community members every day! We'd love to hear from you.

How do you celebrate International Women's Day and strive to Accelerate Action in your personal and professional life? What strategies, resources, or actions have you found successful in working towards meeting this goal? Let us know in the comments below.
