1. What is the Idea Exchange?
The Idea Exchange is for you! This site gives our members a voice in the evolution of our products. Share your ideas and feedback with the entire ecosystem and increase the visibility and priority of key features and capabilities important to your business.
At our core, we believe in collaboration and partnership with our community. We are committed to creating a product that meets the needs and exceeds the expectations of our customers. That's why we've created a space in our customer community where we invite you to share your ideas, feedback, and suggestions for how we can enhance and improve our platform and product. We value your input and believe that your voice is critical to guiding our product development decisions. By collecting your feedback, we can better understand your needs and prioritize features that will make the biggest impact. Our goal is to listen, organize, and engage with you around your suggestions, and represent them to the rest of the organization. 2. How active is the Idea Exchange?
The Idea Exchange is a vibrant and thriving space for our community members to share their insights and suggestions. Thanks to the continuous participation and enthusiasm of our users, the site is filled with dozens of diverse and innovative ideas that reflect the needs and desires of our community. We encourage everyone to join the conversation, contribute their thoughts, and collaborate in shaping the future of our product together.
3. How do I post a new Idea, vote or comment on other Ideas?
To post a new idea, simply log into Community and visit the Idea Exchange. Once you’re in the Idea Exchange, click the New Idea button on the right side of the screen to post your idea. Add an idea title, body text, and accompanying tag so that our members can better sort through ideas based on subject.
You are free to add any visual aids, such as images, to better explain your idea. To vote or comment on an idea, simply open an idea, scroll to the bottom past the body text of the idea, and click on the thumbs up icon to vote or type in the comment box to post your comment.
4. What’s the difference between 'Hot', 'Top', and 'New' ideas?
Hot - Ideas with the most comments
Top - Ideas with the most upvotes
New - Latest ideas posted
5. What does each Status mean?
Open for Voting: Default status when an idea is posted. Vote/Comment if you like the idea
Accepted: The product team has accepted this idea and are evaluating how and when it could be added to the development roadmap
Planned: The Idea is on the development roadmap
Released: The Idea has been released and is available to our customers
Archived: The Idea is not feasible to build or is no longer applicable
6. Do Ideas get added to product releases?
Yes, some of our favorite features have been championed by our community, including Custom Style Templates, Quick Layout Edit and Export Dataset Procedure Step. You can view all the Released Ideas by filtering for the Released Status on the Idea Exchange.
7. How does Board decide which Ideas are released?
Multiple factors influence how Ideas are included in a release. These include the level of community engagement, votes and comments, market trends, and the results of a comprehensive analysis by the product management organization.
Note that when an Idea is moved to 'Archived' status, this does not mean that the Idea is not important! It might have been combined with another Idea, scheduled to be part of a brand-new feature, or market/industry trends may have shifted which require an Idea to be recategorized. So, keep the ideas coming!
8. How often do you update the Ideas?
Our dedicated product team evaluates and revitalizes your ideas monthly and is committed to sharing as much insight as possible with our community. We will strive to provide transparency into the process and will update the Idea’s status as soon as we can, based on the number of great suggestions you provide!
We genuinely appreciate your contributions and want you to know that your ideas are a vital driving force behind numerous, dynamic internal discussions that shape the evolution of our product and platform offerings.
9. I disagree with Board’s decision around an Idea’s status.
We apologize if our decision does not align with your perspective. Please be assured that we thoroughly evaluate all Ideas, considering various factors and organizational priorities. To gain a better understanding of our decision-making process, we encourage you to refer to question 7, "How does the Board decide which Ideas are released?"
10. Do you archive Ideas posted?
Beginning in 2023, we have implemented a thoughtful archiving process for Ideas that have received fewer than 5 votes and are more than 6 months old. This approach ensures that our Idea Exchange remains well-organized, highlighting the most sought-after suggestions and streamlining their accessibility for both our community and team. If you notice your submitted Idea is no longer visible, it has likely been carefully archived.
