Roll-up and display previous month’s data correctly

1) What is your idea?  Provide the ability to compare data month-on-month when using Day entities.     
2) What specific problem are you trying to resolve?  If the Day entity is used, Board will consider the offset period of -1 to mean one day even though the report is configured to display monthly data.  Cubes would need to be configured at a Day entity level and be able to compare data month-on-month when the report is configured to display monthly data.
3) What workaround have you found or used?  No workaround has been found.  We are using Month entity instead of Day entity.
4) What is your role in the organisation?  I am the Programme Manager for my organisation's Data Programme.  We are developing data services for paying customers.
