The Board 2021 Summer Release Is Now Available

This update introduces new Collaboration features, new options for popular Screen Objects, significant global enhancements and dramatic performance improvements.

MAIN NEW FEATURES OF THIS UPDATE

Collaboration services: allow users to publish content within Board, leave contextual comments about Screens and Capsules, and create chat sessions between members of the same user group. Learn more about Board's Collaboration services and how to configure and manage them in the Subscription Hub.

New Geo map Object: a new map Object based on Google Maps services is available for advanced data visualization. Administrators can customize the new Map Objects to allow user interaction with the map. Users can zoom in/out, activate fullscreen mode, choose map type or enable Street View.

Improved Data View and Chart Objects: multiple enhancements have been added to these popular Screen Objects in terms of formatting, data handling, and performance. For example, in the Data View now you can freeze panes to lock rows, columns or cell series, customize cells and headers formatting, hide total rows and more. New properties for Charts allow to better manage the format of individual chart elements, such as the plot area, axes labels, axes titles and data series.

Subscription Hub improvements: new user management features and various enhancements have been added, such as the possibility to export all users in bulk and sync users metadata with entities in Board Data models. These improvements are available for Board Cloud customers only.

The new installers include fixes for the following topics:

• An exception during the SSO authentication has been fixed
• An exception during the Authentication through Officer add-in has been fixed
• In screens created with previous versions, selectors keep the option "show active percentage".
• Transition object, label properties could not be displayed. This issue has been fixed
• A malfunction where a drill-down action generates an error has been resolved
• A problem which did not allow the execution of procedures when the user metadata were empty has been solved
• A graphical malfunction on labels and buttons with dynamic visibility that do not show the background color has been corrected
• A malfunction where a Dataflow didn't wrote the expected value to a Rolap cube has been resolved
• A malfunction where a Dataflow with previous year value didn't wrote the expected value has been resolved
• An issue on cartesian chart where the option hide zeros is not applied to newly created series has been fixed
• API calls using Client APIs configurations in the Subscription Hub are now working as expected

Patch highlights:

• Several fixes and improvements related to the Dataflow
• Resolved issues with the Data Reader not loading values correctly and freezing
• You can now import multiple values for a single custom user metadata using the Import function of the Subscription Hub

Dataflow

• A malfunction where a Dataflow wasn't writing all expected values has been resolved
• Drill-procedures involving Dataflows are now significantly faster, even when applying selections based on multiple Entity members or when the target Cube has a dense structure
• A malfunction where a Dataflow wasn't working as expected when the Previous Year option was used in conjunction with the “Week” calendar setting has been fixed
• A Dataflow that performed the calculation "b=a" wasn't working properly when those two Blocks had different dimensions. This issue has been fixed

Data Reader

• An issue where a Data Reader wasn’t feeding data into multiple Cubes correctly has been fixed
• A malfunction where a Data Reader involving large amounts of data caused the process to freeze has been resolved

Subscription Hub

The Import feature in the Subscription Hub has been enhanced with a new option for custom user metadata. The new option allows you to upload multiple comma separated values for each custom user metadata. Each list of values must be enclosed in double quotes.

Example

Fixes:

• Static security selections in Roles created in a Board Platform associated with the Subscription Hub are now working as expected
• An issue that prevented the Subscription Hub from loading correctly using Safari on MacOS and iOS-based devices has been fixed

Data View

• An issue with sorting on a Data View whose associated Layout included three or more Entities set By Row and had the “Hide zeroes” option disabled has been fixed
• In some cases, copying and pasting from Excel to a data entry-enabled Data View resulted in wrong values being pasted. The issue has been corrected

Procedures

• An issue with the “Clear cube” step applied to a Text Cube followed by a Dataflow step caused the system to freeze. The issue has been corrected
• A malfunction that caused a Procedure to abort when an Interactive selection step was executed without the selection criteria being changed has been corrected
• The “Cube align” step now correctly respects active selections and security selections at run-time

Various

• Button and Label. Using the @entity substitution formula in conjunction with Entities containing a large number of members slowed the Screen loading in Play mode. The issue has been corrected
• Card. A display issue with word wrapping in tooltips has been corrected
• Data entry. A malfunction where the “Cube cells locked by” rule locked cells that should have been editable has been corrected
• Excel add-in. An error that caused logouts when using the Excel add-in has been fixed
• Roles. Static security selections in Roles created in a Board Platform associated with the Subscription Hub are now working as expected
• Rules. Rules now also work properly when adding/deleting members from an Entity
• Selector. A display issue regarding the Show Active Counter option has been corrected
• Selector. A display issue regarding font color settings that also hid the reset button has been corrected
• Subscriptions. Scheduled emails with an attached file whose printable report configuration had no Print areas set are now being sent correctly
• Subscriptions. Printable reports that included Screen Objects associated with an incorrectly configured Layout prevented scheduled emails from being sent. The issue has been resolved
• Transporter. Normalization options are now correctly applied to the target Data model
