Hi Maik,
since the labels will only display values (i.e. numbers) when talking about a cartesian chart I don't think it's possible to use an algorithm to achieve your aim.Kind regards,

Hi Maik,
Here is a link on how to customise style Charts and gives you some options on showing labels.
Hope this helps with your requirements.

I was trying to find something about labels in the file but there's nothing.
In the link it is more color and number formatting.
I want to show the number as label and the category on the bar chart.
Any other ideas

Hi @Maik Burghardt ,
when you're in Design mode of your screen, click on the bar chart object and the object properties window will appear on the right hand side. Open "Series" and scroll down, just below Border Settings you'll find what you're looking for
Kind regards

That will solely show the values. However I would like to show values and the category name in the graph.
That seems to be only possible for a PIE chart. See below.

Hi @Maik Burghardt ,
you're correct there. This unfortunately does not work in a cartesian chart. You'll only see the category when hovering the mouse over the graphicOn the other hand it seems to me that displaying the category in the label wouldn't add any value to the chart—you don't want it to become too crowded.
Kind regards,

Hi Helmut,
i agree with you since it is a straightforward categorization.
However in a stacked column chart in becomes challenging.
There is also no way to create own Labels (via a alogythm or so), correct?

Wouldn't it be better if you put the categories on the x-axis and have 2 bars for each category - one representing Budget and the other prior year? If you then enable labels, you have clarity on how values compare between 2 versions across categories.

@Navan Mehra not really in option when I want to show the mix. But I understand it isn't an option.
