Hi, I am creating a report and I am using expression in rules to calculate Gross Margin %. It is calculated correctly but I cannot put % sign with the number. Is there a way of doing that.

Hi Saad, in order for the Entity Design Template to be applied, you need to select it in the Dataview Properties on right hand side when clicking on the Dataview in Edit Mode:

The rule does not need to be changed. The % is only a visual element,

    Regards, Daniel

    Hello,

    In the screen:

    1. Select the Dataview.
    2. Go to Block format.

In Block format, select the cells for the block that will have the % sign.

Type the sign/symbol you want to use. If you want to add decimals, you can also do it here.

I usually put a space before the % sign, but it's up to you (or the customer) what you prefer.

After you are done, remember to press Save.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your help Samir. The above option apply the sign to all the cells whereas I want % sign to be applied to just one cell. e,g

    Revenue $1,000

    Expenses $500

    Gross Margin 5%

  • The method which Samir shared applies to the entire block. If you are displaying your data in rows, use the Format option under Data Model. Define a format on your entity and put a %sign against the Gross Margin member.

Sorry, I read your questions too quickly. :-)
I agree with Navan, to use the Format option.

I hope you get it to work.
