Hello everybody,

we are trying to create Maps in Board 12.5 to show sales in countries where we are active.

I tried to do it like described in the manual, but it is not yet working correctly.

What do we have already
- created a .json file with the six regions which we want to see
- Marker Entity exists
- Latitude and Longitutde Cubes (with Marker erntity part of them) with values for the markers

Then we have this setting:

For the markers, we use two cubes with these coordinates:

This card generates with my configurations:

You can see the 6 regions which we have defined in the .json

But the only regions which gets a colour and which shows information if you hover over it, is the region nr. 1. It is always the region which is the first one in the .json.
I deleted the line from the .json and tried it again. Again the same problem, now you can see the region which was in the second line and now is in the first line.

As you can see the region boards in the map, I think that the .json is correct.
If you Bubbles instead of map areas, the latitude and longitute cubes seem to work, too:

The cubes are connected via the marker entitiy "INT Regionen".
- INT Regionen is directly in longitude and latitude
- IST Umsatz is indirectly via the relationship tree connected to INT Regionen

Does anyone had this problem too or can help me to fix.

Thank you and best regards Simon

    Hi @Simon Eich ,

did you try to use the shapename for the areas (in your case the customer or region)

The according entity needs to be a part of the layout.

    Best,
    Helmut

  • Hi Helmut,

thank you for your quick answer.
No, i have not tried this option.

As I understood the manual, you have to choose between using shape names or using longitude/latitude.
At the moment I have no mapping to the .json file.

But I will check if I can get this.

    BR Simon

    Hi @Simon Eich ,

I would try to make the entity "INT Regionen" a part of the layout and apply that to the shapes section.

    Best,
    Helmut

  • I have tried this:

The entity INT Regions looks like:

in the .json I have added an id field which should match with the code in the entity

    But this doesn't help either.
Now I only see the boarder of the regions but no colour:

Have I made a mistake here with the setting?

Could you please doublecheck the .json according to this screenshot from our manual

Do you have the type "polygon" and the coordinates?

  • Hello Helmut,

the .json file looks like this:

The polygons or multipolygons have an ID, which matches with the entity INT Region.

    This matches with this manual:

    Creating an OpenStreetMap (boardmanual.com)

    Hi @Simon Eich ,

the only difference I see between the screenshot of our manual's configuration of the .json and yours is that you're using "1" instead of "name". Although I'm not sure that would make a difference in execution (from my point of view, you'd just need the IDs), I'd try to change that.

Otherwise, everything looks fine on your side, I think.
So, if the suggested solution doesn't help, please open a ticket with our support.

    Best
    Helmut

  • Hi @Helmut Heimann,

I have tried this, but the result is the same. Only one of the six regions gets a color.

Thank you for the hint to the support. I will consider opening a ticket.

    Best regards Simon

  • Hi @Helmut Heimann,

I gave it another try and now I got the correct map :D
I changed the id field in the .json into the names of the regions.
Accoridng to the manual, this id has to match with the code of the member of the entity.
I tried it with the description and now it works:

    This map results for me:

But now I have a new question:
How can I define the zoom of the map?
The starting point is always somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean., so I have navigate manually to France.
It would be nicer if France is showed directly.
This is my setting for the .json:

Is there another place were I can set this up?

    Best regards Simon

    Hi @Simon Eich ,

first of all: congrats to your achievement, that's great!

Regarding the zoom I'd try a different .json just describing the shape of "France" - add that to the first level in the "Zoom Level Management".
I'm not sure if that will work but I'd give it a try ;-)

    Best,
    Helmut

  • Hi @Helmut Heimann,

I tried this out and put a .json of France without regions on to of the Level Management.
I also tried differenz options of zoom, but nothing changes.
