One quarter in: what we’re learning from the Board Idea Exchange
When we launched the new Board Idea Exchange, our goal was straightforward: create a better way for customers, partners, and employees to share ideas, follow progress, and understand how feedback connects to product decisions. As we shared at launch, the portal was designed to improve clarity, relevance, usability, and transparency in how ideas are reviewed and advanced.
Now, after our first quarter with the new portal live, we want to share an early progress update.
Our goal: provide better visibility to idea progress
From the beginning, we wanted to add transparency and predictability to our Idea Review process, making status changes visible. We also outlined that once an idea reaches 25 votes, it moves Under Review, where the product team evaluates it and provides a response or clarification before moving to Accepted for Evaluation or Deferred.
Some updates on ideas from the past three months:
- 6 new ideas have reached 25 votes
- 30 have been accepted for evaluation
- 9 have been marked as planned
- 13 have been updated as shipped
How we’re improving signal: categorization and merging
One of the less visible—but important details is our approach to categorizing and consolidating ideas.
As part of our regular reviews, we are actively:
- Assigning ideas to clearer categories to improve organization and discovery
- Identifying related or overlapping ideas
- Merging similar ideas into a single, stronger signal
This is how we triangulate the signals we are receiving from you and use them as inspiration for what we build.
Top categories we’re seeing are:
- Data Model
- Data Model Health Metrics in Public APIs
- Log track of entities saturation and in case the MaxItem is reached
- Print export should consider selected tab
- Capsules and Reporting
- My view - Enhancement to save several views
- "Others" Automatically Grouped When Using Keep Top Function
- UX Improvement Ideas for Selectors
- Platform Administration
- Log track of entities saturation and in case the MaxItem is reached
- Line by Line comparison of Procedures (Capsule and Data Model) across servers
- Screen Design
- No transfer of selections made in play mode into design mode without having been asked
- B14 - Reset Selection to Screen default
When similar ideas are merged, their votes are combined (without duplication), creating a more accurate view of demand. Instead of multiple smaller ideas competing for attention, they become a single idea with stronger traction and clearer context.
In practice, this means:
- Your idea may be merged into another idea that represents a similar need, perhaps as a different angle or perspective
- The combined idea reflects higher vote counts and broader support
- Our teams use your ideas to build a more complete picture of the problem and use cases
We want to highlight that your engagement matters as much as submission. Voting on and contributing to existing ideas helps build momentum and ensures the most relevant requests rise more quickly.
Since launch, we have made two refinements:
- Accepted is now Accepted for Evaluation
The meaning is unchanged: the idea has been reviewed and is under evaluation by the product team. - Deferred is now available as a status
This is used for ideas that we do not want to reject, but do not expect to pursue in the near term.
These updates help us be more precise and transparent about where ideas stand.
Thank you for contributing
Thank you to everyone who has submitted ideas, voted, commented, and followed updates so far. Your participation is helping us improve both the Board platform and the way we communicate about product feedback.
We will continue to review ideas regularly, update statuses, and use the Idea Exchange to provide a more transparent view into how customer and partner input informs our roadmap.
Your ideas help shape what comes next. What else would you like to see, let us know in the comments below!
